Brito October 14, 2021 Private Baptist Helen Inez Armstrong November 5, 1921 – October 5, 2021 Helen Inez Armstrong, 99, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2021. She was a sweet and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed. Helen was born in Cullman, Alabama, to her parents Chelcy and Carl Newton Martin on November 5, 1921. She is survived by her sister, Doris Wallace, her daughters, Sandra Spence of Bradenton, Florida, Judy Weston of Bradenton, Florida . , and Beverly Swanson of Warren, Mich., seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, with another expected in January. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Leon P. Armstrong in 1982, her parents and her sister, Margaret Baker. Helen volunteered with Regional Auxiliary Cullman at Cullman Medical Center from 1982 to 2013. She served as Auxiliary Treasurer from 1985 to 2013 and a member of the Northwood Gardening Club. Helen loved to play cards and games of all kinds. She regularly played cards with the residents of the Sacré-Coeur convent. She was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church and regularly attended religious and Bible studies. A private celebration of life will take place in Bradenton, Florida with his immediate family. Interment will be held at the Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville, Alabama. Arrangements will be announced at a later date. Memorial gifts can be made at Tidewell Hospice.
