There will be a private family funeral service for 88-year-old Enid resident Mary Burdick in the chapel of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Mary was born on October 5, 1933 in Enid to Walter and Vera (Keller) Caldwell and died on Saturday February 19, 2022 at Bass Hospital.
She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1951. On December 24, 1950, she married Evert Burdick in Enid. Evert’s job allowed the family to move to many cities and states during the early years of their marriage. They returned and settled in Enid in 1964. Mary worked at Enid State School and later worked in various doctors’ offices as an assistant.
She was a volunteer with Integris Bass Baptist until last year. She was a member of the “Golden Girls” which consisted of girls she graduated with. Mary enjoyed playing all kinds of games and was an accomplished seamstress and crocheter.
Mary is survived by her four children, Michael Burdick (Donna) of Broken Arrow; Johanna Schmidt (Daryl) of Fair Oaks, PA, Kathy Shellady (Peter) of Enid and Greg Burdick (Karen) of Owasso, OK; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-granddaughter, McKenna Schmidt; as well as two sisters, Jo Ann Ewton and Sally Bauer.
Memorials can be donated through the funeral home at OMRF (Heart Division) or the Commons Nursing Home in Enid.
